BLOW IN WITH FIRST AT BOB SANDLIN

The Ark-Tex Region held our third tournament of the 2009 season and for the third time this year, our couples were blessed with decent weather to pre-fish and then blasted with challenging weather to fish the tournament. This tournament began with winds from the northwest 25-30 mph, gusts over 40 mph, with cloudy skies early and bright sun in the afternoon. Even in this weather 90% of our couples brought fish to the scales. The Ark-Tex region has some tough couples and some especially tough ladies have braved the weather this year. Hopefully we will be blessed with good weather and great fishing at our final three tournaments.

First place & Big Bass were taken home by one of our new couples to the Ark-Tex region, Steve & Janet Hodges. Steve & Janet brought a nice sack of fish to the scales weighing 15.98 lbs anchored by a 5.52 lb Big Bass. Good job on such a tough day!

Second place were Brian & Marla Keith with a good sack of five fish weighing in at 14.36 lbs. Marla said the bumpy ride back across the lake was worth it to take home a check. Congratulations to you both!

Joe & Susie Moss, winners of the 2008 CAST Classic on Lake Amistad, took home third place with a nice limit of fish weighing 14.19 lbs. Way to go Joe & Susie!!

Our other couples who received checks for their excellent finish were Steven & Caitlyn Stroman, Doug & Bettie Taylor, Butch & Cindy Scheppler, and Glenn & Cindy Emmons. Congratulations to these couples as well as all of the couples who were able to find fish on such a tough day on the lake!

To close Rick & I would like to thank all of the couples who attended the annual covered dish dinner at our house on Bob Sandlin on Saturday. Good food and a great time were had by all; even the weather cooperated for this part of the weekend! We would also like to thank all the couples who brought fantastic side dishes and thanks to all the couples who helped with cooking, setting up, and the clean-up afterwards. We had a wonderful time and look forward to having all of you at our home again next year.
