TAKE FIRST ON WRIGHT PATMAN

Rick & I would like to start the final newsletter of 2009 by saying a BIG THANKS to all our couples who supported us in our third year as CAST Ark-Tex Region Directors. It has been a great pleasure to watch the region grow and have a lot of fun with ALL our couples. We look forward now to the 2009 TOP SIX Invitational Tournament and the 2009 CAST Classic. We really will be glad to see all of you again next year for the 2010 fishing season!!!

The Ark-Tex region fished its final tournament of the 2009 season at Lake Wright Patman. For those of you who don’t know, the lake is located just outside Texarkana. As our luck would have it, the lake has been 20 feet above normal for the past 3 weeks. At tournament time the lake was approximately 15 feet above normal with the lake level dropping three inches per day. We can say however, that our couples were finally blessed with nice weather for a change. A cool morning with some cloud cover and a light breeze made the tough fishing bearable. Once again Ark-Tex couples fishing this weekend prevailed with most of our couples bringing fish to the scales. More than half of the couples weighed in a limit of fish! Wright Patman made the final tournament of our season an interesting and nail biting weigh-in for those couples who were in anticipation of qualifying for this year’s TOP SIX Invitational Tournament.

1st Place winners Bryce & Inna Reed brought a nice sack of five fish to the scales weighing 14.17 pounds grabbing themselves a place in the 2009 TOP SIX Tournament! Congratulations to you both!!!

2nd Place was taken home by Randall & Julie May with five fish weighing 13.72 pounds. This couple is hard to beat on any lake. Good job!!

3rd Place went to one of our most consistent couples Joe & Susie Moss. Joe & Susie had a good bag of five fish weighing in at 13.55 pounds; safely securing themselves a place in the 2009 TOP SIX also. Good fishing you two!

Big Bass was once again taken home by Mike & Sharon Stroman with a nice 4.60 lb bass. This was a nice catch on really tough day fishing. Way to Go Mike & Sharon!!!
