Randall & Julie May Win
Wright Patman
I have always heard that fishing was either feast or famine. After last weeks makeup tournament on Lake Palestine in which it was a feast of Big Stringers and Big Fish, we witnessed famine at it's finest a week later on Lake Wright Patman. Having this lake as my home lake I can tell you that the fishing was TOUGH. But as they say when the going get tough the tough get going and Randall and Julie May showed there fortitude yesterday on one of the toughest days I have seen in a long time. They came to the scales with a 5 fish limit weighing 12.43 lbs good enough for 1st place and big bass of the tournament 3.18 lbs. In one of my earlier stories I referred to one couple as Mr. and Mrs. Consistency. True to my comment Ray and Ann Smith came to the scales with 8.03 lbs good enough for second place. Was the stars ands moon lined up wrong? For the second tournament in a row Virgil and Jackie finished 3rd with 7.98 lbs. This last tournament shuffled the standing considerably since we had 3 of our top teams that didn't weigh a fish. And as good of anglers that we have in our region you know it was a tough day.
