CAST Capitol Region's

Lake Belton Tournament by .02 lbs!!!

Lake Belton as always proved to be generous to some and stingy to others, as CAST Capitol Region Couples found out during their second tournament for 2008.

Carolina rigs, shakey heads, and jigs were again some of the top producers as a new group of anglers made their push toward the top of the CAST Capitol Region standings. Cliff and Brenda Davis won top honors with a limit weighing 13.24 lbs. Their bag also included the big fish for the Capitol Region weighing 6.04 lbs., caught by Brenda! Cliff and Brenda took home the money for 1st, Big Bass, and both plaques.

Second place went to Joe and Pam Pope with a weight almost too close to believe behind Cliff and Brenda. Their sack weighed a very close 13.22 lbs.; only .02 lb. out of first place! It's a good thing our scales weigh in hundredths. They took home the second place money and plaque.

Third Place went to a tough couple, Larry and Gail Pederzani. Their weight of 12.65 lbs of bass took home the 3rd place plaque for that honor.

All in all we had a great tournament with all of our couples starting to make moves increasing their chance at earning an opportunity to fish The annual CAST TOP SIX tournament and the CAST Classic in the fall.

We want to thank all of our couples for their participation and support because without it, we could not do what we do. Our sponsored prizes this month were incredible and distributed fairly even among our couples. Tightlines Premium Fishing Tackle furnished enough soft plastic baits for every couple to receive three bags each, along with an assortment of Pulsator Spinner baits, won by Larry and Gail Pederzani. Larry and Gail were also the couple winning the drawing for two Voyager batteries furnished by Parts Depot of Temple. Next month I want their lucky charm!

Cliff and Brenda Davis won spices from Emporium Spice of Temple. Emporium also furnished funds enabling us to bring you the great meal enjoyed by everyone after weigh-in.

Joe and Pam Pope won sponsored prizes courtesy of Larry and Gail from Academy Sports and Outdoors in Austin. Luther and Alice Lentz and Kenneth Staats won gift cards also courtesy of Academy Sports and Outdoors. James and Donna Cantwell and Jerry and Pam Carpenter took home oil and Please Release Me provided by the Temple, Texas Academy Sports and Outdoors store.

Kenneth Staats was our winner for the cooler full of quality baits from Marine Outlet of Temple.

Pete and Rosemarie Trevino along with Charles and Barbara Jo Reagan were each winners of Castaway Rods courtesy of Castaway Custom Rods of Conroe, Texas.

Last but not least Glenda Summers received a wonderful ladies gift courtesy of Brickwood of Texas.
