"Acorns" abound for Lesikers!!!
Well, even a blind hog can find an acorn every now and then. That's the way it happened at the second of six qualifying tournaments, for C.A.S.T. Capitol Region couples.
Our tournament at Lake Belton was just such an event as Vickie and I finally brought home some bacon. We had a blessed day, and managed a nice bag weighing 15.50 pounds, we also landed the Big Bass for the tournament, weighing 6.76 pounds!
We were fortunate to edge out Joe and Pam Pope this time, but they were close, finishing in second place with a nice sack weighing 10.24 pounds.
Third place went to one of our first year couples, J.R. and Lavonna Briant, with a five fish limit weighing in at 8.16 pounds.
Once again, after the weigh-in our sponsors were the real stars of the show, as everyone went away with something in hand. We would like to welcome our newest Capitol Region couple, Jeff and Judy Baugus, who have fished several years with the C.A.S.T. Ark-Tex Region and C.A.S.T. Northeast Region. We truly enjoyed Jeff & Judy, they are going to be a great addition to the Capitol Region. Jeff & Judy also took home our top prize of the month; a pair of Delco Voyager trolling motor batteries courtesy of the Parts Depot of Temple.
We would like to thank Dean Perkins and Debbie Peden for stepping up big as sponsors for our meal after each tournament; we lost our previous sponsor to the lagging economy this year. The pizza was GREAT! Thanks again Dean and Debbie.
Our next tournament will be March 28th on Lake LBJ with registration and weigh-in at the Lake LBJ Yacht Club boat ramp. Hope to see you there!
