CAST "New" Capitol Region

debuts at Lake Travis

The first tournament of the year for the new C.A.S.T. Capitol Region at Lake Travis pitted some of the Austin area's most seasoned couples against one another for what turned out to be a great day on the water. After a very foggy start; Shaky Heads, Carolina Rigs, Football Jigs, and an occasional Drop Shot proved to be the weapons of choice.

First Place in this inaugural event went to Luther and Alice Lentz of San Marcos with an impressive bag of Lake Travis largemouth that weighed 10.35 lbs. The Lentz's showed why they were Anglers of the Year in the well established Mr. and Mrs. Bass Club of Austin organization last year.

A close Second Place went to the always tough team of Dean Perkins and Debbie Peden with a five bass limit weighing 10.08 lbs.

Vickie and I were blessed with three fish that weighed 8.90 lbs to take Third Place. We were fortunate to have a good kicker fish that won Big Bass honors at 5.52 lbs.

We can’t begin to express how fortunate we are to have such a great group of couples come together for our first tournament. Special thanks go out to Larry and Gail Pederzani, Cliff and Brenda Davis, as well as all the other members of Mr. and Mrs. Bass Club of Austin for their outstanding support for our first ever tournament as the "CAST Capitol Region".
