Win at Whitney!!!
It was a beautiful day for fishing at Lake Whitney! After all the foul weather the Metroplex region has had to endure, the good Lord gave us a wonderful day of fishing. Now if the Director had not scheduled the tournament on Mothers Day Weekend it would have been perfect. I apologize to all the Mothers and will make sure it does not happen next year!
Jeff Brandon and Susan Warren are our big winners. They were our 1st place Team and Big Bass winners. They had four fish for 11.24 lbs. Big bass was an impressive 4.52. They also had another one almost the same size. Jeff and Susan caught their fish on the lower end of the lake on Senko’s and Baby Brush Hogs that were purchased at Academy.
Second Place team of Brain and Kim Harris brought in 4 fish also, weighing in at 8.27 lbs. Brian and Kim caught their fish on white spinner baits.
Third place went to David and Charlotte Harris with 5.49 lbs. David and Charlotte were fishing the lower end of the lake and caught their fish on green pumpkin Speed Craws.
Bobby and JoAnna Clark were our Ranger Bonus Winners at Whitney. Bobby and JoAnna had 5.31lbs to be the highest finishing team in the Ranger Cup program.
This is the second tournament in a row that the Harris’s have been in the money! Brian and Kim Harris have moved into a tie with Bobby and JoAnna Clark for our points leaders. David and Charlotte Harris are in a tie for 2nd overall with Conley and Kelly Staley. One point separates our 1st and 2nd place teams. Now, throw in the fact that the next place, 3rd place, John Staley and Page Cundiff are only 11 points back, the race for anglers of the Year is going to be exciting to say the least.
We want to say a big THANKS to Debbie Amburn for taking all the photos of the tournament. Believe me when I say, she took a lot of Photos! Thank you so much Debbie!
If you bring your camera to the tournaments please take pictures of each other and of the other couples that you run into during your day of fishing. I want to put together a photo album of all the pictures that we can share with everyone. Just send them to me at my home computer at conleystaley@charter.net. I will try and add them to the news letter that I send each of you every month.
I also would like to thank John and Grace Watts for making the long drive to Whitney and fishing with us. It truly means a lot to have you at the tournament! To take the time and come introduce yourselves to the couples was very special. Many of the couples came to me afterwards and expressed their gratitude for keeping them informed of all that you have done and plan to do with CAST. We may be a small group but we are excited about CAST and the directions that you are taking it.

Lake Bridgeport
Since the way we have been doing the tournaments has been so popular, we will continue to do so! We will be at the Wise County Park at 5:00 am for registration and live-well checks. You can launch anywhere you want. Don’t start fishing until 6:00am. Weigh-in will be at 3:00 pm. Be checked in or in line with your fish by 3:00 pm.
