Don & Dixie Rodgers Win Lewisville

The first stop on the CAST/NORTH Region tournament schedule was March 12, 2006 on Lake Lewisville. High winds and lots of other tournament pressure made it very tough for our anglers. Most of our couples fished anywhere they could find a spot to get out of the gale force winds. The preferred bait seemed to be Brush Hogs and shallow running crank baits.

Don and Dixie Rodgers didn’t seem to mind the wind. Fishing by the dam with A Brush Hog, Dixie caught their kicker fish and big bass of the tournament. This huge fish weighed in at 9.00lbs even. Don and Dixie had three fish weighing in at 13.50lbs to take 1st place. Don and Dixie are also Ranger owners which means there total winnings for the day was$668.00.

Dan Jezek and Terri Anderson also had a nice fish weighing in at 7.20lbs.Their total weight was 12.80lbs which was good enough for second place.

Robert and Robbie Brooks was the only couple to catch a five fish limit. Their total sack weighed in at 11.85lbs to take 3rd place.

Next Tournament Information

April 9th 2006, is our next tournament at Lake Amon Carter. Saturday will be registration at Pelham Park, located at 1601 East Wise (US 81) Pool Pavilion; we will do our usual pot luck dinner so everyone bring your favorite dish. Sunday’s launch site will be at the new lake boat ramp. Take highway 287 to fm 1125 ½ mile after crossing dam.
