Lake Lewisville Tournament

CAST/NORTH opened its 2008 season on a very windy Lake Lewisville this past Sunday. All of our anglers were forced to take cover in a cove or cut off of the main lake; the winds were just too strong! Some of our anglers trailered to the North end of the lake and that seemed to be where the better bite occurred.

Bobby and Joanna Clark, veterans of CAST, and new to CAST North this year, brought in an impressive five fish limit weighing 19.55 lbs. Bobby and Joanna fished up North using Green Pumpkin Jigs to catch their fish. The couple took home $745.00 for first place plus a check for the second place big bass.

Ronnie and Margaret Sherbert took second place with a nice sack weighing 16.55lbs. Ronnie and Margaret also fished up North using Red Rattle Traps to catch all of their fish. Their fishing effort allowed them to take home $410.00 for the day.

Tony Mattson and Candy Lewis who are new to CAST this year also used Rattle Traps in the Tower Bay area to catch their 15.00lbs. Candy also caught Big Bass of the tournament, weighing 6.40lbs. Tony and Candy took home a nice check for $365.00

Rod and Rosanne Simpson, Roger and Moncia Haverkamp, Lynn and Kathy Roller were all winners of Castaway Custom Rods sponsored by Castaway Custom Rods of Conroe, Texas.

Stewart and Wendy Herndon, Don and Dixie Rodgers, Rick and Rene Muir were winners of Academy Gift Cards from long time CAST sponsor, Academy Sports + Outdoors.

CAST North’s next tournament will be April 6th on Lake Amon Carter. Saturday registration will be from 3-5 pm at the Senior Citizen building, located next to the Rodeo arena, at Pelham Park. This will also be our annual pot luck dinner, so everyone bring your favorite dish. Sunday registration will be at Selma Park.
