Will & Kelly Crayton Win Cedar Creek
The weather was not the only thing that was hot on Cedar Creek this July as Will & Kelly Crayton weighed in five bass for 15.15lbs. Will said that he thought before the tournament that they would have to go deep to catch any quality fish as the temperature was forecast to go over 100 degrees with the heat index of 104. He turned out to be right on target. They had stopped at Academy Sports and Outdoor store on the way to the tournament and picked up a package of Mister Twister Exude Super Lizard in Green Pumpkin. They fished the lizard on a Carolina rig over deep humps off of main lake points. They won $824.00 for their day’s effort.
Bonnie & Terry Johnson also had a limit of bass weighing in at 11.57 lbs. That was good enough to put them into second place. Third for the day was Erbie & Carolyn Voyles with four bass weighing 8.85 lbs. Bob & Charlene Way had 8.32 lbs. for fourth place. Fifth was Randy & Leta Bunch weighing 7.46 lbs. And rounding out our top six couples for the day was Hector & Diane De La Garza with 7.32 lbs.
Big Bass
Hector & Diane De La Garza had the Big Bass of the tournament with one going 6.66 lbs.
Will & Kelly Crayton had the second Big Bass with a fishing weighing 6.32 lbs.
This tournament concluded the regular season for 2006 in the Northeast region and we are very happy to announce that we had more couples fishing and more teams qualifying for our Classic Tournament this year than we have had in the last several years. I guess when you are having fun; you want to share it with someone. Many of our couples brought new teams with them at the start of the year. We hope that next year will be even better.
