Davis and Massey WIN Richland-Chambers
CAST Northeast opened the 2007 season on Richland-Chambers once again. Once again Toby Davis and Charla Massey demonstrated their expertise at catching large stringers of fish on this excellent lake. Their heavy weight bag of fish pushed the scales down to a resounding and unrelenting 26.03 lbs. Toby reluctantly said rattle traps were the baits doing the dirty work but, we all are somewhat skeptical about his boasted choice of weapon. A check for $750.00, 100 points, and the first place trophy were Toby and Charla’s rewards to start off the 2007 season. As an added bonus Toby and Charla collected $104.00 for the 6.54 lbs second largest bass of the tournament.
Coming in second were the father and daughter team of Lauren and Terry Hawkins. I am willing to bet this may have been one of Lauren’s first tournaments but she and her dad, Terry, made the most of it bringing in a nice bag of bass weighing 18.43 lbs, collecting the second place plaque, and a check for $440.00. Lauren was all smiles posing for pictures with her proud papa!!
Terry and Lauren also took home $156.00 for the big bass of the event, a nice 6.95 lbs. monster!
Third place money, plaque, and 98 points toward the 2007 CAST Classic went to Lee Yowell and Gloria Trevino. Anchored by a solid five bass limit, one of the youngest couples in the Northeast Region took home $250.00 for an excellent 15.91 lbs. sack of Richland-Chambers bass.
Fourth through tenth place checks were passed out to CAST Northeast Region couples along with several door prizes and raffle items including, Kistler Custom Fishing Rods, Yamalube Outboard Motor Oil donated by Jerod Taylor of East Plano Marine, and giftcards from Academy Sports + Outdoors. Also winning raffle berths into the 2007 CAST Classic were Rick Johnson and Donna Dunham along with Tommy and Barbara Taylor. The Kistler Custom Rods for the Richland-Chambers tournament were won by Bill and Audrey Gammons. The Kistler Custom Rods for the Lake Palestine tournament winners are Gary and Barb Curtis. The Kistler Custom Rods for the Lake Bob Sandlin raffle drawing will be sold and drawn at the Lake Palestine tournament. Good Luck to everyone who purchases a ticket.
Our next tournament will be at Lake Palestine on April 1st, 2007 with the pre-tournament meeting being held at the Palestine Motor Inn. Registration should begin at approximately 3:00 pm and official tournament announcements at 5:00 pm. Livewells will be checked at the Palesine Motor Inn after the meeting for everyone bringing their boat. All other livewells will be checked at the ramp Sunday morning prior to launch. Couples wishing to register at the Villages Marina boat ramp on Sunday morning can do so from 5:30 am until 7:00 am.
