Richland Chambers GIVES IT UP!!!

CAST Northeast Couples are some of the best team fishing anglers in the state of Texas as demonstrated by the HUGE sacks of bass they brought to the scales at their March 30th tournament on Richland Chambers outside of Corsicana, Texas. Collecting a check took more than 17.48 lbs. and the top 15 couples all had right at 15 pounds of bass.

Taking the top spot with 22.95 lbs. and finishing in 1st Place were the dynamic duo of Rayford & Diane Richman. Rayford & Diane backed up their 2nd place finish at Cedar Creek last month in the CAST Metroplex Region’s opening event plus their 3rd place finish in the CAST Northeast Region opener the very next day on Cedar Creek. Tell me this couple is not on fish!!! Rayford had over 25 lbs. in four fish during his practice period on Richland Chambers! The rest of us need to take lessons from Rayford & Diane.

Finishing in 2nd Place was one of CAST’s most experienced couples Rick & Linda Milam, directors of CAST Ark-Tex Region. Not only did they bring a heavy bag of bass to the scales; Rick pulled a 9.83 lbs. monster of a bass out of the bag to whoops and hollers from everyone! This huge behemoth took big bass honors by almost a pound over Chris & Kashida Spencer’s huge 8.85 lbs bass; which took the 2nd biggest bass award for the tournament.

Third place went to Clark & Dianna Seymour. While Clark is an experienced all around fisherman, his partner Dianna realized a personal first for her. She was able to catch and cull her own five bass limit for the first time in a CAST tournament. Her contribution to their stringer pushed the scale down to an impressive 19.68 lbs. Congratulations to both Clark & Dianna!

Proving how really tough they are, their dedication to bass fishing, each other, and CAST; our 4th Place couple, Larry & Betty Yarborough, continue to amaze us all with their skill as bass anglers. Despite a terrible accident last year, that could have taken their lives, this amazing couple continues to show us all how truly blessed we are to be able to enjoy what God has provided. Their five fish limit weighed 19.59 lbs. and could have been heavier had they not had to come in early.

The couples currently eligible to represent the Northeast Region in the 2008 CAST TOP SIX Invitational Tournament are: Rayford & Diane Richman, Jeremy Grandstaff and Crystal Anderson, Butch & Cindy Scheppler, Russell Atwood & Felissa Gamero, Jared & Barbie Taylor, and Toby Davis & Charla Massey. Eligible alternates are: Allen & Robin Little, Larry & Betty Yarborough, Andy & Anne Wright, and Chris & Brittney Forner. Good Luck to everyone, keep movin’ up!

Our next tournament will be at Bob Sandlin on April 27, 2008. We will have registration at Rick & Linda Milam’s lake house starting at 3: 00 pm on Saturday, April 26th. The launch ramp will be at Barefoot Bay Marina. I expect us to call boat numbers by 6:30 am Sunday morning. We will be conducting weigh-in at the Barefoot Bay Marina picnic area.
