Our first tournament of the year at Richland/Chamber was expected to be a very slow and hard tournament as the lake level had dropped almost 7 feet in the last 3 months, making it a completly differant lake then what we fished last year. But it turned out to be a great start for our couples in the Northeast Region. With the wind holding at 10-15 mph and overcast skies with mist, 87% of our CAST couples brought fish to the scales. Not only that but it took over 16 pounds just to get a check.
Stoping by an Academy Sports and Outdoor Store to buy a package of Mister Twister Exude Super Lizards paid off big for Thomas & Glenda Traylor who concentrated on dropoffs near points. Thomas & Glenda brought a whopping 24.22 pounds to the scales including the tournaments big bass at 8.04 lbs. They took home $912.00 for their days work.
In second place with a limit of bass was Toby Davis Jr. & Charla Massey with a great weight of 20.77 pounds.
Third place with yet another 20 pound sack was Hector & Diane DeLaGarza with a 5 bass limit going 20.42 pounds.
Rounding out our top six couples at Richland/Chambers were Rick & Linda Milam, 19.20 lbs. ; Jared & Amanda Taylor, 19.09 lbs. ; and Ricky Phillips & Beth Wright, 18.70 lbs.
