Patt & Larry Martin Win Canyon Lake!
Three “new” teams joined CAST South as we held our second tournament of the year at Canyon Lake in the beautiful Texas Hill Country. All of the new teams are made up of at least one former member of CAST South and we are glad to have all of them back.
First place went to Patt and Larry Martin who brought in a five-fish stringer with a total weight of 10.87 pounds. The Martins said the winning stringer was caught fishing Carolina rigs in 10-15 feet of water near drop-offs. At registration, Patt told us how she won a Waterloo rod at the last tournament she fished. That will become important in a moment.
Second place went to returning members Danny and Lynette Branch with five fish weighing 10.20 pounds.
Robby and Dawne Robinson took third place with a five fish limit of 9.62 pounds.
Ricky Roberts and Janet Frerich also brought in a five fish limit fish, with a combined weight of 8.59 pounds for fourth place. Ricky and Janet were also the winners of the Ranger Bonus money by virtue of being the highest placing Ranger Boat owner for the second month in a row..
Rounding out the Top Six are the teams of Bill and Mary Langenburg and Stan and Mary Hall.
For the second tournament in a row, Bill and Mary Beth Langenburg brought the big bass to the scales. While not as large as last month’s fish, the 3.59 pound beauty was enough to bring home some money and yet another plaque for the Langenburgs.
Patt And Larry Martin were the winners of the Kistler Rod Raffle, winning a pair of Kistler Rods valued at $360! Two tournaments in a row for Patt! Our thanks again to Trey Kistler and all of the great people at Kistler Custom Rods.
Once again, Travis Boating Center has stepped up and helped out CAST South by donating gift certificates to us for door prizes. We would like to give a big thank you to Darren at Travis for his contribution.
CAST South would also like to thank Sylvan and Rose DeJardo at Fisherman’s Corner for allowing us to hold registration in their parking lot. It was my first trip to Fisherman’s Corner and I was very impressed with the selection of tackle they had. If you are ever in the area and need anything fishing related, I am sure that Fisherman’s Corner has it. http://www.canyonlakefishing.com/
