CAST Capital Couple Win

CAST South's Canyon Lake Tournament

The South region’s second tournament of the year followed a day where weather forecasters had forecast a cold front pushing through heavy thunderstorms and a threat of tornadoes. As it turned out, nothing came through but the front and some light rain. Sunday morning was cold and breezy, but the day warmed up nicely.

As the headline gave away, first place went to Ken Staats and Shirleen Hart of the Capital Region. They managed a five-fish limit weighing in at 12.28 pounds.

Just 0.18 pounds behind were Ron Carter and Debbie Hunter who took second place with a five-fish stringer weighing in at 12.10.

Larry and Sharon Wilborn brought in five fish weighing 11 pounds even for third place.

Fourth place went to Bill and Mary Beth Langenburg with four fish weighing 10.38 pounds. Bill caught the big fish of the tournament that weighed 5.04 pounds.

Rounding out the Top Six are the teams Larry and Patt Martin with 9.32 pounds father/daughter team Jim and Jessica Behnken with 9.13 pounds.

CastAway Rods were won by Richard and Aryn Standeford and Bill and Connie Bales.
