ROBERT AND LINDA COBB WIN C.A.S.T. SOUTHEAST LAKE CONROE....
CATCH BIGGEST BASS OF THE YEAR.....

Cast Southeast started Saturday out of Stowaway Marina on Lake Conroe.  We would like to welcome and thank all our new members who just joined our great organization.  Unfortunately, what started out as a calm morning ended up with high winds and making the main lake unbearable.  This also affected some competitors spots that were sight fishing.  Rule #1 about sight fishing.  Do not go around the lake marking 50 spots and never get past your second spot.  Spending 4 hours on a  six pound fish that you already hooked that morning and your wife (Jennifer) hit with a net is not the proper protocol.

The high winds did not stop our first place winners, Robert and Linda Cobb, from running over to Caney Creek and targeting their bass in the brush.  Not only did they take the first place check for a total weight of 15.73 pounds but they also were able to bring in the biggest bass of the year at 8.90 pounds. Robert and Linda caught their fish on a black / blue tube bait.

Not far behind was the legendary couple of W.C. and Anna Polster.  Anna said "they threw every lure in the boat to catch those four little bass."  Their total weight was 14.18 pounds to earn the second place spot.  They targeted two to five foot depths on the edge of the grass.  This is a great team that we enjoy seeing at our tournaments and really appreciate them driving the distance to fish with us.
Third place with a total weight of 13.55 pounds was the duo of Russell and Christi Glenweinkel.  This couple caught tons of fish but was only able to stretch four fish to the Lake Conroe minimum limit of 16 inches.  They were fishing in two to four foot depths on grass flats and they fished senkos rigged wacky style.

We celebrated Jennifer Anderson's birthday at the weigh in and enjoyed handing out all the door prizes.  We would like to thank Yoli Narron's grandson Gabriel for helping us draw the winning boat numbers in our door prize drawings.  The Kistler rod raffle was a hit and we are planning on getting more to raffle off at our Lake Livingston tournament.  We would like to thank all of our tournament anglers that fished with us.  Cast Southeast would also like to thank Lamar and Vince Anderson of Stowaway Marina on Lake Conroe for allowing us to use their facility to host our tournament.  We would also like to thank Stowaway staff for all their help.

C.A.S.T. Southeast would like to thank all of our sponsors:  Ranger Boats, Mercury Outboards, Academy Sports and Outdoors, Kistler Custom rods, ProRule measuring boards, Billy McDaniel with BillyStix Custom fishing rods, Jeff Buchanan with Insidermaps, Howard Etue with E2baits, Tony Hopkins with Graphics Unlimited for help in making all of our tournaments possible.  Please support all of our sponsors.

Our next tournament will be at Lake Livingston out of LakeView Marina on March 24th with registration at LakeView Marina starting at 5:00AM.  Lakeview Marina is located on the North East side of 190 bridge.  If you need directions or information please call John or Jennifer Anderson at 832-514-0449 or email them at johnandjen2@msn.com.  We will allow trailering at the tournament.  Hope to see everyone there and if you know anyone wanting to fish a great tournament circuit please bring them along.
