LES BROWN AND PEGGY SCHAFFNER DOMINATE LIVINGSTON ON A BLACK/BLUE JIG!!!

CAST Southeast started Saturday out of Lakeside Marina on Lake Livingston with teams of bass crazy couples. We would like to welcome former members Les Brown and Peggy Schaffner back to CAST Southeast. Lake Livingston provided us with some great fishing and the weather was perfect for bringing in some good fish. One of our legendary couples W.C. and Anna Polster decided to leave a piece of their boat on Lake Livingston. W.C. and Anna hit something on the lake knocking a hole in their boat. They finished the tournament “actually fishing” at the boat ramp with their boat on the trailer and down in the water. Redneck fishing at its finest….
The winners of the Lake Livingston C.A.S.T. Southeast tournament are returning former members, Les Brown and Peggy Schaffner. Les and Peggy brought five awesome fish to the scales for a total weight of 15.77 pounds. They also won the BIG BASS pot with a huge bass weighing 5.25 pounds. They caught the majority of their fish on a black and blue jig. Congratulations to Les and Peggy on their win.
Following up in second place and also winning the RANGER BONUS money were the great fishing duo of John and Grace Watts. John and Grace brought five fish to the scales with a total weight of 11.95 pounds. Rumor has it they were fishing up in White Rock creek. John said, after the tournament they were heading to Lake Tyler to fish another CAST Tournament with the Ark-Tex Region.
Third place went to Billy and Mary Ingram. They brought three large Livingston bass to the scales with a total weight of 11.93 pounds. Billy and Mary endured a HOLE in their boat at our Lake Conroe tournament and were able to get it repaired in time to make a comeback. Congratulations Billy and Mary on your finish.
Fourth place in the money went to Mark and Morna Lane. Fifth place in the money went to Ronnie and Courtney Mundy. Congratulations to our great couples.
We would like to give a special thanks to Secily Coleman the daughter of Wayne Coleman and the granddaughter of Larry and Joyce Coleman for helping us draw boat numbers for great prizes from our great sponsors. Thank you Secily…. We also want to give a special thanks to Carol McMinimy for helping us by taking pictures during the weigh-in. Thank you to all C.A.S.T. members that helped after the tournament and during the chili dog feast. Your help makes everything a lot easier.
We had a great get together at the Anderson camp for hotdogs and chili. We told some great stories and for some reason the mentioning of lakes for next year kept popping up. We would like to thank Lynn and Sue Camp with Kickapoo Marina on Lake Livingston for allowing us to have our hot dog cookout at our camp.
