WIN on Lake Livingston!!!

CAST Southeast started their fourth tournament of the season April 19th, 2008 on Lake Livingston from Waterfront Lodge and Marina. CAST couples were greeted with clear skies and off colored water making for a challenging fishing day. Our couples had several patterns to try from bed fishing, to flipping hyacinths, pitching to bushes, as well as fishing shallow water docks. Several couples utilized this tournament as an opportunity to pre-fish for other upcoming tournaments on Lake Livingston.

Many CAST couples used their Just Keepers weigh-in bags courtesy of www.duncanbags.com to bring their hefty stringers of fish to the scales.

The winning couple Johnny & Ann Myers, are not strangers to Lake Livingston and its feast or famine reputation. Johnny & Ann targeted their favorite spots fishing for shallow water bass with brush hogs. They brought in a limit of quality bass for a total winning weight of 13.54 pounds. Congratulations to this great team on their well WIN!

CAST Southeast’s 2nd Place team, Landan & Anne Ware, utilized two different baits to catch their fish also on a shallow water pattern. Landan’s go to bait was a “uaintgotit” and they also used white senkos to catch a four bass stringer with a total weight of 13.22 pounds. They targeted areas in Kickapoo Creek. Congratulations to Landan & Anne on their second place finish.

The 3rd Place couple of Larry & Joyce Coleman, are also not strangers to cashing checks and hanging plaques. They always seem to find the right areas to target for bringing in a limit of bass. Larry & Joyce brought in a five fish stringer of healthy bass weighing 12.78 pounds. They targeted mid-lake areas using baby brush hogs. Larry & Joyce have some more tournaments coming up on Lake Livingston so they could not divulge exactly where their best spots are located. We wish them the best of luck in their upcoming tournaments.

The tournaments big bass honors go Edwin & Julie Loitz. The traveled up White Rock Creek and flipped green pumpkin red brush hogs in 3ft. of water. They managed to catch a nice 4.78 pound bass to win big bass honors. Congratulations to Edwin & Julie on their BIG BASS catch.

NEXT TOURNAMENT INFORMATION

Our next tournament will be on Sam Rayburn with pre-tournament registration and launch at Jackson Hill Marina on May 24th, 2008. Registration will be between 4:45 AM and 6:15 AM and tournament start time will be determined in the morning before registration. We will allow trailering for the tournament. Call Terry Sympson at Jackson Hill Marina if you need help with your lodging needs. They have a RV Sites and cabins available.
